원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Bodyfriend announced on the 9th that it will hold the "1st Gag Contest" to support South Korea with healthy laughter.
This contest was planned with the purpose of helping the body become healthy through laughter and thereby making the world healthier. Bodyfriend previously recruited talents from comedians to spread healthy laughter. They are actively engaged as mobile shopping live guests, in various promotional videos, and at internal and external events.
The contest offers a total prize of 100 million KRW and massage chairs as awards. It also provides opportunities to join Bodyfriend as brand ambassadors.
The first-place winner will receive a prize of 50 million KRW and Bodyfriend’s top flagship model massage chair, "The Pharaoh." The second place will receive 30 million KRW and the steady-seller model massage chair, "The Phantom," and the third place will receive 20 million KRW and the "Phantom2 Brain" massage chair. Notably, all finalists will be offered opportunities not only as mobile shopping live guests and Bodyfriend brand ambassadors but also for various job positions.
The contest is open to anyone regardless of age or gender. Applicants can apply by submitting a free-form video through a Google Form by December 5. After the first and second video screenings and the third offline screening, the final results will be announced on December 28. The judging panel draws attention with comedian Jeon Yooseong, a veteran in the comedy world, serving as a judge.
A Bodyfriend official said, "As a healthcare group, we planned this contest with the heart to support South Korea’s comedians who make the world happy not only through physical health but also through healthy laughter," adding, "We hope this gag contest will be an opportunity to make the world '10 years healthier' with healthy laughter, even if just a little, during these difficult times."
