[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] SK Magic (CEO Yoon Yo-seop) announced on the 7th that it will unveil its eco-friendly home appliance lineup, the 'Green Collection,' this month and take the lead in expanding the distribution of eco-friendly home appliances.
The eco-friendly home appliance lineup, Green Collection, consists of eco-friendly products with a usage rate of eco-friendly plastics in production exceeding 99.5% of the total plastic weight. Unlike other companies' products that apply eco-friendly materials only to some parts, it is characterized by applying eco-friendly materials not only to the interior and exterior of the product but also to the filters.
SK Magic has continued research to utilize waste plastics as eco-friendly new materials in response to the global environmental issues caused by the overuse of plastics. As a result, in November last year, it succeeded in developing the core design of eco-friendly plastics using recycled plastics and introduced the All Clean air purifier applying this technology to the market, receiving consumer response with one unit sold every three minutes. The purchase preference for products applying eco-friendly materials was 78.2%, more than twice as high as the 35.5% for general products.
Accordingly, SK Magic plans to sequentially launch new eco-friendly models such as Green242, Green267, and Green285 in October by establishing an eco-friendly product line. The number of product categories fully applying eco-friendly plastics, such as water purifiers, air purifiers, and dishwashers, will gradually increase. A 'Recycling Center' capable of independently collecting, processing, and reprocessing products will also be established.
An SK Magic official said, "From a corporate perspective, applying eco-friendly materials increases costs, but we have launched an eco-friendly product line at the same price as before to provide customers with a new experience called 'Green Life.' We will continue to strive to offer eco-friendly home appliances at reasonable prices in the future."
