[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea is holding the event "Home Furnishing for the Earth, Start Without Burden" to help more people easily practice sustainable living.
This IKEA event is designed to help consumers easily practice sustainable living in their daily lives. As the importance of the environment has become more prominent due to COVID-19, it allows participation in a better future for the Earth by experiencing IKEA's sustainable home furnishing products and solutions at lower prices.
The "Home Furnishing for the Earth, Start Without Burden" event will be held from the 19th of this month to the 10th of next month at all IKEA Korea offline stores (Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Giheung, Dongbusan) for IKEA Family members. During the event period, customers who purchase event products worth more than 100,000 KRW will receive 10% of the payment amount as a thank-you card.
The event products consist of about 300 IKEA home furnishing items made from sustainable materials or that help support sustainable living in daily life. Key products include ▲ STRANDMON wing chair in beige color made from recycled polyester to reduce plastic consumption (349,000 KRW) ▲ MAGERN shelving unit made from durable and renewable bamboo material (39,900 KRW) ▲ FUBBLA work lamp using LED bulbs that consume less energy and have a longer lifespan than conventional bulbs (39,900 KRW), among others.
There is also a "Treasure Hunter" event where consumers can solve quizzes and receive prizes. By carrying a quiz map and shopping while checking hidden hints throughout the store, customers who solve all the quizzes will receive an ice cream coupon sold at IKEA.
Nicholas Jonsson, Commercial Manager of IKEA Korea, said, "IKEA, which has been steadily practicing sustainability, believes that everyone should be able to participate in a healthier future for the Earth through everyday life easily," adding, "We hope more Korean customers will decorate their homes with people- and environment-friendly home furnishing products and solutions and create a sustainable and happy future."
