[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Huawei unveiled new 5G solutions and products to realize its core network strategy, the '1+N' strategy, at the '2021 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2021)'.
On the 28th (local time), Huawei showcased new 5G products and solutions at MWC 2021 held in Barcelona, Spain. This is part of Huawei's 1+N 5G network strategy, which applies multi-antenna technology across all frequency bands and scenarios to assist in building 5G networks.
Earlier, in February, Huawei proposed the 1+N strategy by releasing the 'NetX 2025 Network Technology White Paper.' This core network strategy involves building a single high-bandwidth network and providing N functions based on the situation and needs of 5G sites.
Huawei combined ultra-wideband wireless networks with leading technical algorithms to introduce the industry's only large-capacity massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive MIMO) device supporting both 64T64R and 400MHz bandwidth. As a product supporting the entire C-band, telecom operators can deploy multi-segment spectrum in a single module, reducing equipment deployment costs.
Huawei also introduced the 64T64R large-capacity massive MIMO device as the lightest among similar industry products. The lightweight base station is easy to install and occupies less space, lowering construction costs. According to Huawei, the weight of a single module is only 19kg.
Additionally, Huawei introduced the AAU Pro, the industry's only 64T A+P solution blade repeater. It integrates active and passive antennas in a single box, eliminating space constraints. Swiss telecom operators used the blade AAU to secure new base station sites and rapidly build 5G networks.
Huawei also launched the industry's first commercial FDD massive MIMO product. While large-capacity massive MIMO devices have already succeeded in commercializing time-division duplex (TDD) bands to ensure optimal experience and capacity in 5G networks, frequency-division duplex (FDD) large-capacity massive MIMO devices faced challenges balancing device size, weight, and performance.
With this launch, Huawei plans to apply multi-antenna technology to all scenarios and bands. Yang Chaobin, Huawei's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Wireless Network Business, said, "Huawei's solutions and products will help telecom operators efficiently build 5G networks and provide the best experience. Huawei will collaborate with global partners to share the benefits of 5G with everyone."
