LG OLED TV, Industry's First to Support 'Dolby Vision Gaming' at 4K·120Hz

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] LG Electronics' OLED TV is the first in the industry to support the next-generation gaming-optimized video processing feature 'Dolby Vision Gaming' at 4K (3840x2160) 120Hz refresh rate.

LG Electronics announced on the 29th that through a recent software update, it has started supporting 4K·120Hz Dolby Vision Gaming on major 2021 OLED TV models (model names G1·C1). Previously, this feature was only supported up to 4K·60Hz, and LG OLED TV is the first to support Dolby Vision Gaming in a 4K·120Hz environment.

Dolby Vision Gaming is a gaming-optimized video processing feature introduced by Dolby, a brand specializing in video and audio technology. It expresses vivid images with deep colors without exaggeration, earning the nickname 'dream gaming environment' among gamers.

LG Electronics plans to provide software updates for 2021 and 2020 OLED TVs by the end of the year so that more customers can experience Dolby's differentiated gaming environment at up to 4K·120Hz. As a result, LG OLED TV has become a TV that supports both Dolby Vision video technology and Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology not only for general video but also for gaming environments. Gamers can enjoy games more realistically with vivid picture and sound quality.

The Chicago Tribune, a leading US daily newspaper, recently selected LG OLED TV (C1) as the Best of the Best 4K Gaming TV. The media cited HDMI 2.1 support, infinite contrast ratio, and wide color gamut as advantages of LG OLED TV.

UK IT specialist media T3 selected LG OLED evo (G1) as the best gaming TV in the TV category of its 'Awards 2021'. The judging panel praised LG OLED TV’s extensive HDMI 2.1 feature support, excellent gaming functions, and response time.
