[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bodyfriend (CEO Park Sang-hyun) announced on the 29th that it has ranked first in the healthcare sector for six consecutive years in the '2021 23rd Korea Industry Brand Power (K-BPI)' survey conducted by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).


The Korea Industry Brand Power (K-BPI) is an index that measures the brand competitiveness of representative products, services, and companies in various industries in South Korea annually, conducted by KMAC, and has been ongoing for 23 years since 1999.


Bodyfriend secured first place with a total score of 715 points, maintaining a significant lead over the second and lower-ranked brands. Scores in all individual categories such as brand awareness, purchase intention, and preference rose sharply, showing an increase of nearly 40 points.


Recently, on its 14th anniversary, Bodyfriend presented a vision to grow as a 'D (Digital Healthcare Robot) company through ABC (AI-Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud) technology.' The company aims to transform the healthcare device, massage chairs, into digital healthcare robots based on core technological capabilities leading the 4th industrial revolution, including AI, Big Data, and Cloud.


In fact, Bodyfriend has invested approximately 66 billion KRW in research and development over the past five years to develop new healthcare technologies. The R&D is centered around three major convergent research organizations: Bodyfriend Technology Research Institute, Design Research Institute, and Medical R&D Center.


A Bodyfriend official stated, "We will devote ourselves further to research and development to realize extending customers' healthy lifespan by 10 years and continue to introduce products and services that customers need."
