[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Hwang Seong-woo, CEO of Samsung SDS, urged employees on the 26th to transition all areas of IT services to cloud technology.


On the same day, CEO Hwang sent an email to internal executives and employees expressing his ambition to strengthen capabilities in cloud, logistics, and security businesses. He especially emphasized that Samsung SDS must transform into a cloud company.


CEO Hwang stated, "We must transition all areas of IT services, including digital transformation capabilities, new technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics (ABD), and smart factories, to a cloud technology base," adding, "Let us strengthen the business model of cloud-based solutions (SaaS) to lead the company's sustainable growth."


He also conveyed a message to further expand the security and logistics businesses. CEO Hwang explained, "Security is a field with great future growth potential as its importance is increasingly highlighted with the acceleration of cloud transition." Additionally, he said, "The logistics business must further develop logistics platforms based on IT new technologies to enhance globally competitive logistics with high visibility."


Furthermore, he added, "Samsung SDS is a company that holds the seeds of future businesses that are essential to the world and have high entry barriers," and emphasized, "Let us devote ourselves more to securing talent and technological capabilities to develop into a global leading company."
