[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The fulfillment rate of Governor Lee Jae-myung's pledges in Gyeonggi Province was 96.1% as of the end of last year.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that, after analyzing the implementation status of 363 pledge projects by Governor Lee, 349 projects were found to be either completed or progressing normally.
The total number of pledges announced at the time of Governor Lee's inauguration for the 7th term of local government was 365. However, two projects were consolidated with similar projects or canceled at the request of city and county governments, adjusting the total to 363.
Looking into the inspection results in detail: 23 projects such as "Establishment of a dedicated labor policy department and a peace and security coordinator" were completed and closed; 274 projects such as "Implementation of Youth Basic Income" and "Expansion of local currency issuance" are continuing after fulfillment (repeated or additionally promoted after completing the pledge content); 52 projects are progressing normally; and 14 projects are partially underway.
Among the 363 pledges, 297 were completed, resulting in a pledge fulfillment rate of 81.8% based on the evaluation criteria of the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
This figure excludes the 52 projects currently judged by the province to be progressing normally and the 14 partially promoted pledge projects.
This is because the Manifesto Practice Headquarters calculates only projects that have been completed. There is some difference from the pledge fulfillment rate calculated by including projects that the province independently judges to be progressing normally.
Previously, the province received the highest grade (SA) for two consecutive years in the pledge implementation plan and pledge fulfillment evaluation by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
In the 2019 evaluation, the Manifesto Practice Headquarters highly rated the systematic establishment of the pledge implementation plan, including policy goals of pledges and setting verification indicators for each project, and that it was composed of practical tasks providing real benefits to residents. Also, in last year's evaluation, it gave high scores in resident communication areas such as pledge completion and disclosure of pledge implementation status.
The province plans to check the quarterly progress of projects currently progressing normally to complete them within the term, and to thoroughly prepare in advance for projects that are partially underway.
Governor Lee Jae-myung promised, "Based on the core values of provincial administration?'fairness, peace, and welfare'?I will communicate with residents and do my best until the end so that the lives of residents can improve through the fulfillment of pledges in the 7th term of local government."
