LG Electronics Launches 'PuriCare 360˚ Air Purifier Alpha'... "Enhanced Purification Performance and Convenience"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 18th that it will release the 'PuriCare 360˚ Air Purifier Alpha,' which significantly enhances purification performance and customer convenience, at the end of this month.

This product features an expanded purification area from the previous 100㎡ to 114㎡. It has a two-stage Clean Booster structure on the top and bottom of the device. The upper Clean Booster's left-right rotation angle has been expanded from 70 degrees to 140 degrees, and the distance for releasing clean air has increased from 7.5m to a maximum of 9m. The lower Clean Booster has a 140-degree left-right rotation angle and a purification distance of up to 5m.

For the first time, LG Electronics is introducing an accessory AI sensor. LG Electronics explained that when the air purifier and sensor are used together, the space is purified about 5 minutes faster than using the air purifier alone. By selecting the AI mode, it operates by setting the optimal option among ▲Intensive Purification ▲Separated Purification ▲Single Purification according to the air quality. LG Electronics stated that according to tests conducted by the global certification body TUV Rheinland, the AI mode purified 24% faster and removed 43% more dust compared to the Auto mode.

This product is equipped with a filter life sensor that calculates usage time and measures the pressure difference based on the actual amount of dust accumulated on the filter to notify when to replace the filter. Additionally, LG Electronics introduced the first-ever voice guidance function in an air purifier product, allowing voice notifications for operation mode changes and filter replacement timing. The central part of the upper Clean Booster features a 4.3-inch touch LCD screen, enabling easy checking of fine dust concentration in the space where the AI sensor is located.

The PuriCare 360˚ Air Purifier Alpha is equipped with the V True Total Care Filter, which provides antiviral and antibacterial effects as well as removes ultrafine dust and five major harmful gases. According to joint tests with Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health, this filter removed 99.9% of the mouse coronavirus (MuCoV), and according to experiments by the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), it eliminated 99.9% of Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli, LG Electronics explained.

This filter removes ultrafine dust particles as small as 0.01㎛ (micrometers; 1㎛ is one-millionth of a meter). It has obtained the Clean Performance CA certification from the Korea Air Cleaning Association, the KAF certification from the Korea Asthma Allergy Association, and the BAF certification from the British Allergy Foundation. It also removes five major harmful gases and household odors, including ammonia, formaldehyde, toluene, acetic acid, and acetaldehyde.

The PuriCare 360˚ Air Purifier Alpha will be released in two sizes based on purification area: 114㎡ and 66㎡, with a retail price ranging from 1.39 million to 1.79 million KRW. LG Electronics offers a cashback benefit of up to 100,000 KRW to customers who purchase the 114㎡ new product together with one AI sensor as a set.
