[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific (Chairman and CEO Kyoung-bae Suh) has published "The Journey of Arita Typeface," which tells the 16-year story of developing the Arita font.
The Journey of Arita Typeface contains the story of how Amorepacific, along with graphic designer Sangsoo Ahn and 15 other typeface designers, created the Arita font over 16 years.
It closely examines the process through the birth of the corporate typeface, design stories, usage examples, and interviews with 14 designers.
Additionally, for overseas readers interested in Hangul typefaces, it is composed in a mixed Korean and English format, with easy-to-understand explanations of professional font content, making it accessible not only to designers but also to readers who have generally been interested in typefaces.
The Arita typeface began with the Hangul font "Arita Dotum" released in 2006, followed by "Arita Buri," the Roman alphabet font "Arita Sans," and the Chinese character font "Arita Heukche," forming a family of 18 fonts across three languages.
The Journey of Arita Typeface is available at major bookstores and independent bookstores nationwide and is currently preparing for overseas sales.
