[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Prostemics announced on the 22nd that it has obtained a patent for a microRNA polymer (isolated from adipose-derived stem cell exosomes) that can be used for various purposes, as well as its manufacturing method.
The company stated, "Through the microRNA polymer (new synthetic compound) and manufacturing method covered by this patent, we have secured the foundational technology for the material and plan to utilize it in the development of our treatments for lung cancer, melanoma, and breast cancer."
It added, "Since the material obtained in this patent targets the stemness genes of cancer stem cells, it is expected to be applied to precision medicine technologies, including companion diagnostics, in the future."
