[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Singer Jo Kwon revealed the story of being contacted by the real-life protagonist of the musical 'Jamie.'

On the 25th, Jo Kwon appeared as a guest on SBS Power FM's 'Escape at Two Cultwo Show.'

That day, Jo Kwon said, "I returned to musicals after completing my military service for two years. 'Cultwo Show' is my first radio appearance after discharge," and introduced himself as "Jamie Jo, who plays the role of Jamie in the musical 'Jamie.'"

When DJ Shin Bong-sun asked, "What is 'Jamie' about?" Jo Kwon explained, "'Jamie' is a story based on a true story about a boy who aims to become a drag queen at 17."

When asked, "What is a drag queen?" Jo Kwon said, "It is a cross-dresser. But it's hard to describe it simply as 'cross-dresser,'" adding, "It is another self inside me, called a persona, expressing 'another self inside me.'"

Jo Kwon then shared the story of how he got in touch with the real-life protagonist of the musical 'Jamie.'

Jo Kwon said, "The real original protagonist Jamie Campbell sent a video message to my SNS. He said, 'I'm so excited, and if it weren't for COVID-19, I would want to come to Korea in person to see the stage,'" and added, "So I used Google Translate to reply," which brought laughter.
