[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] On the 3rd, the Philippines lifted the ban on its citizens traveling to South Korea, except for the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. This came six days after announcing a complete travel ban to South Korea.
According to local media and foreign news agencies, Salvador Panelo, spokesperson for the Philippine Presidential Office, stated in a press release that "the inter-agency task force on COVID-19 has decided to allow Filipino citizens to travel to South Korea, excluding Daegu and Gyeongbuk."
However, Panelo emphasized that the ban on foreigners entering from Daegu and Gyeongbuk remains in effect.
