Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Develops Recovery Meal Boxes for Cancer Patients

[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] A convenient recovery meal lunchbox for cancer patients' nutrition and diet management has been launched.

The Cancer Hospital at The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital announced on the 9th that it will release the home care meal lunchbox for discharged cancer patients, 'Doctor's Lunchbox,' on the 10th.

This lunchbox was developed by the research and development team of Michelle Food, a support company under The Catholic School Foundation, based on 10 years of patient and general meal recipes analyzed by nutritionists from hospitals under the Catholic Medical Center, with consultation and supervision from the Cancer Hospital medical staff.

Doctor's Lunchbox consists of meal-centered lunchboxes and meal bundles including porridge and gruel. It features antioxidant stir-fried kimchi made with functional cabbage containing anticancer components, and a variety of side dishes including soft fish and meat prepared by a softening method to complement the diet.

Yoon Seung-gyu, director of the Cancer Hospital, said, "Cancer patients need to carefully manage their diet," adding, "This product allows caregivers to easily prepare diets at home that are difficult to arrange, not for commercial profit."
