Earlier, on Nov. 6, 19 tourists from Bulgaria visited the center, watched a gugak performance and played the gayageum.

At the performance, students at the Gugak Culture School presented mini changgeuk, a form of Korean musical theater, and gayageum byeongchang, in which performers sing while playing the gayageum. In a one-day gayageum class, participants played familiar K-pop songs on the instrument. They also took part in a paper gat-making activity and viewed an exhibition of traditional Korean musical instruments with commentary.

Seo-gu Mayor Kim Igang said, "Gugak is a precious cultural heritage that embodies the emotions and lives of our people. We will continue to develop a range of gugak content tailored to foreign tourists and promote the value of traditional Korean music far and wide."

The "Gugak Tour" is open to groups by advance reservation. For reservations or inquiries about the program, contact the Bitgoeul Gugak Training Center.
