About 900 people attended, including chapter heads and members from cities and counties across the province, their families, guests, and volunteers.
During the first part of the event, a total of approximately 50 million won was distributed to 56 people in the form of living-stability funds, sponsorship funds from the incorporated association Gyeongnam Safety Culture, and scholarships for university and high school students.
An awards ceremony was also held to honor those who had contributed to advancing the rights and welfare of people with physical disabilities.
One person received the Proud Volunteer Award, and 26 others who had worked to improve the welfare of people with disabilities received commendations.
The second part featured a gathering for fellowship, with sporting events in five disciplines: Yutnori, Sjoelen, park golf, tuho, and Hangung. Participants took part in various games, strengthened their bonds, and enjoyed time together.
Chairman Park Seong-ho said, "Through this One Heart Sports Festival, let us strengthen harmony and solidarity among members and respect and encourage one another as we build a society where people live together without discrimination or prejudice and develop our individual capabilities."
The event was organized as a gathering where people with physical disabilities from across the province and their families could come together, communicate, and build a sense of unity.
The event also provided an opportunity to promote harmony and social participation among people with physical disabilities in the province and support their economic and educational independence through scholarships and sponsorship funds.
In particular, it is expected to help improve public perceptions of people with disabilities and foster a local community where people respect one another and live together, breaking down barriers between people with and without disabilities.
