Members of calligraphy classes in Seongju County's 10 townships took part in the exhibition, presenting a total of 100 works. Through works reflecting the members' calligraphy skills, honed over many years, and artistic sensibilities, visitors shared in the beauty and value of traditional calligraphy.
Organized as part of a cultural arts promotion grant program, the exhibition expanded local residents' opportunities to enjoy culture and the arts and contributed to revitalizing the local calligraphy scene.
Founded in August 1991, the Jeongsimyeonseo Society is a leading local calligraphy organization with around 140 active members.
Since 1992, it has held an annual members' exhibition, working to pass down traditional calligraphy and advance local culture and the arts.
Seongju County Governor Jeon Hwasik said, "It is meaningful to share with residents the works that members have prepared with such dedication over a long period. We will promote the value of traditional culture through calligraphy and support the development of local culture and the arts."
The calligraphic tradition carried on for 34 years is a valuable asset of the local culture.
