The signing ceremony, held at Suzhou City Hall in Jiangsu Province, China, was attended by Suzhou Mayor Wang Wei, Doosan Corporation President Yoo Seungwoo, and Kim Inuk, head of Doosan Corporation's Electronic BG, among others.
The agreement will implement the company's planned investment of approximately 550 billion won in China, part of an investment plan totaling approximately 970 billion won that Doosan Corporation announced in September. The company will build a new line on a site of approximately 185,000 square meters near its existing Changshu plant, with investment to be made in phases through 2028.
The new line is scheduled to begin operations in phases in the second half of 2028. Doosan Corporation plans to draw on its experience, workforce, and infrastructure from operating a CCL plant in Changshu since 2012. Changshu City has agreed to support the administrative procedures required for the project, including permits and approvals, as well as its operation.
On October 27, Doosan Corporation also signed an investment agreement with Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Gimje City to build a dedicated CCL production line for optical modules. The company will invest 399.2 billion won to build the production facility at the Jipyeongseon General Industrial Complex in Gimje by 2028. It is developing a CCL production network linking South Korea, China, and Thailand, having announced plans in April to build a new factory in Thailand.
