The event has been held annually since 2005. This year, executives including Hyundai Rotem CEO Lee Yong-bae and representatives from 100 partner companies attended.
This year, Hyundai Rotem operated a 150 billion won Mutual Growth Fund to provide partner companies with low-interest loans for investment and operating expenses. The fund was more than twice the size of last year's, and 105.9 billion won had been provided to 100 partner companies by the end of the third quarter.
Hyundai Rotem introduced a Shared Growth Performance-Sharing Program in the defense sector for the first time this year. Under the program, when a partner company localizes a component and contributes to an overseas order, Hyundai Rotem returns 100% of the resulting cost savings to the partner company in the year of its first delivery and 50% in the following year. Hyundai Rotem plans to expand the program to the civilian sector.
In its overseas businesses, Hyundai Rotem entered markets alongside partner companies for projects including electric trains in Queensland, Australia, and the Los Angeles (LA) Metro in the United States. By the end of the third quarter, 4,370 employees from 596 partner companies had received technical training.
