Mirae Asset reorganizes, appoints Noh Yongwoo as Digital X CEO: "Strengthening AI"
Strengthening Tech Leadership to Implement Mirae Asset 3.0
Mirae Asset Group said on November 5 that it had appointed two CEOs and seven division heads, promoted 128 executives in Korea and overseas, and reorganized its structure.
The group focused on putting the key strategies of Mirae Asset 3.0 into practice across its businesses, including by appointing artificial intelligence transformation (AX) and digital and information security experts to 20% of the promoted executive positions.
The group also elevated its information security organization to proactively address financial security risks. Its strategy is to thoroughly protect customer assets and information from increasingly sophisticated financial security threats by proactively checking for security vulnerabilities and strengthening its ability to respond in real-world situations.
Noh Yongwoo, a vice president, was appointed CEO of Digital X, a key pillar in implementing Mirae Asset 3.0. The group said he is expected to be formally appointed following a shareholders' meeting after the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) accepts the notification of the CEO change.
Drawing on his experience and capabilities in areas including management innovation, risk management, and improvements to the digital asset regulatory framework, the incoming CEO Noh said he would maximize the convergence of traditional finance and digital assets, as well as the resulting business synergies.
Woo Shinje, a managing director at Mirae Asset Management, was appointed CEO of Energy Infrastructure Asset Management. An expert in infrastructure investment, Woo is expected to lead the expansion of investment into areas including existing renewable energy projects, power grids, energy storage systems (ESS), and power infrastructure for AI data centers.
The group also expanded its selection of leaders in their 40s and women. Among all executives promoted in Korea and overseas, 64% are in their 40s and 17% are women.
The group also moved to strengthen its customer-focused wealth management and service competitiveness. It said that 30% of all those promoted are frontline leaders in wealth management (WM) and pension sales, and that it plans to upgrade its customer service and sales support systems to innovate the customer experience.
