LS Group Announces 2027 Executive Appointments; LS Cable CEO Koo Bonkyu Promoted to Vice Chairman
Most CEOs at key affiliates retained
New executive director appointments reach record high
External talent recruited to strengthen financial strategy
LS Group has announced its executive appointments for next year. The move aims to maintain stability by retaining most CEOs at key affiliates while also pursuing generational change focused on future growth businesses.
LS Group said it finalized the appointments at a board meeting on November 5. The appointments will take effect on January 1, 2027. This is about two to three weeks earlier than usual, when the group typically made its appointments in late November.
The appointments focus on stabilizing the organization and sustaining growth. The group plans to minimize organizational changes by retaining most CEOs at its key affiliates and to maintain earnings growth amid a boom in the power business.
The group is also pursuing generational change to secure future growth engines. LS Group increased the proportion of newly appointed executive directors to about 60% of all promotees, the highest level on record. It plans to promote executives responsible for future growth areas, including battery materials, permanent magnets and power generation, to secure growth opportunities ahead of competitors.
