Korea Asset Trust said on November 5 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the residents' representatives of Pyeongchon A-5 District in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, to serve as the preliminary project operator.
The MOU was established to facilitate the smooth and swift implementation of the redevelopment project in Pyeongchon A-5 District under the Special Act on the Maintenance and Support of Planned Cities. Through a mutual cooperation framework with Korea Asset Trust, the residents' representatives have laid the groundwork for introducing the transparent fund management and professional project management capabilities characteristic of the trust-based approach from the initial stages of the project.

Pyeongchon A-5 District is a large-scale integrated reconstruction project combining three apartment complexes: Hangaram Hanyang, Samsung, and Doosan. The project aims to create a new residential complex on a site of approximately 129,708 square meters, increasing the number of households by 743 from the existing 2,096 to 2,839. The integrated reconstruction is expected to significantly improve the aging residential environment and establish the complex as a new landmark representing Pyeongchon New Town.

Pyeongchon A-5 District is also expected to directly benefit from improved transportation following the opening of the Wolgot-Pangyo Line. A new Anyang Stadium Station (tentative name) on the line is planned near the Anyang Sports Complex intersection, close to the complex. Once the line opens, access to major business districts in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Pangyo, is expected to improve. The project is expected to secure a premium from improved regional connectivity and significantly enhance residential value in the area.
