The "Y" in the program's title stands for both the first letter of YouTube and the English word "why." The title reflects the program's aim of adding YouTube's Y to the president's communications through X, while directly explaining to the public the reasoning behind his decisions in running the government.
The launch of the program expands the direct communication approach President Lee has maintained since taking office. Since his inauguration, Lee has met with the press corps for press conferences or press briefings 23 times, and has also regularly communicated with the public through social media. While his existing social media accounts have served as a channel for quickly conveying his positions on major issues, the new YouTube program will focus on providing more detailed explanations of the background to policies and the rationale behind his decisions.
"In addition to communicating through X, formerly Twitter, we want to communicate with the public in more diverse and in-depth ways through YouTube," Seong said. "The program also reflects our aim of thoroughly explaining the president's thoughts and the reasoning behind how he runs the government."
The first episode centers on President Lee's communication philosophy. Future episodes are expected to include answers to questions about major government issues and explanations of policies, as well as Lee personally responding to public comments posted on his social media channels. The program will be hosted by Son Jungeun, a former MBC announcer and CEO of Seoul Bridge ENT. Son will ask questions on behalf of the public, and President Lee will answer them.

"Taking into account the characteristics of the YouTube platform, the president will express his views as candidly as possible in the language of the public and answer their questions in a relaxed atmosphere, unlike when giving speeches or speaking at official meetings," Seong said.
