AMD, FuriosaAI and MangoBoost Form AI Infrastructure Alliance
Combining CPUs, GPUs, NPUs and DPUs... First Integrated Infrastructure Targeted to Go Online in 2027
AMD, a company specializing in AI semiconductors, is teaming up with Korean startups FuriosaAI and MangoBoost to develop next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure that combines different types of semiconductors. The plan is to integrate Korean companies' AI semiconductors and data-processing technology with AMD's central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs) to improve the performance of AI services and reduce operating costs.
Keith Strier, AMD's senior vice president and global head of AI markets, introduces the collaboration among AMD, FuriosaAI, and MangoBoost during his keynote at AMD's AI Advancing event on the 4th.

Keith Strier, AMD's senior vice president and head of global AI markets, introduced the collaboration during his keynote address.
The collaboration centers on connecting CPUs, GPUs, neural processing units (NPUs) and data processing units (DPUs) into a single infrastructure. AMD will contribute CPUs and GPUs, FuriosaAI will provide NPUs, and MangoBoost will bring DPUs and system software optimization technology. The companies plan to jointly review and validate the infrastructure design so that different types of semiconductors can efficiently handle a variety of AI workloads.
As large-scale AI models and AI agents that can perform tasks autonomously become more widespread, the efficiency of data transfer, networking and memory processing is emerging as a factor that determines service performance. If the data required for computation cannot be delivered on time, even high-performance GPUs may be underutilized. The collaboration focuses on reducing these bottlenecks by jointly optimizing hardware and system software. To this end, the three companies also plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) later that day.
The plan focuses on complementing AMD's CPUs and GPUs with technology from Korean companies. FuriosaAI will contribute NPUs, while MangoBoost will combine networking and storage software to present next-generation infrastructure for the AI era.
The three companies are also considering building a reference system using MangoBoost's AI infrastructure in Seoul. A reference system is infrastructure used to verify how a technology works and performs in practice and to serve as a benchmark for future adoption. MangoBoost aims to bring its first integrated reference infrastructure online in 2027.
Kim Jangwoo, CEO of MangoBoost, said, "The competitiveness of AI infrastructure depends not simply on the scale of computing resources, but on how efficiently they are used and how effectively they are translated into value for real-world services. By combining AMD Instinct GPUs with our own full-stack optimization technology, we will provide high-performance, high-efficiency AI infrastructure through Mango AI Factory."
Ryu Je-myeong, Second Vice Minister of Science and ICT, who delivered congratulatory remarks at the event, welcomed the collaboration between AMD and Korean companies, saying, "In the AI era, who we join forces with and how we connect our respective strengths will determine our future competitiveness."
