The donation will be used to fund rider support programs, including a training program to develop delivery riders into professional instructors, rider safety education and health checkups.
Woowa Youths has held various events to support riders in partnership with the association. In September, the Woowa Youths Rider Safety Management Committee hosted a private-sector discussion with the association on improving the safety and welfare of platform workers. In July, it also worked with the association and other partners to hold an Energy-Charging Truck event, offering services such as free health checkups for riders and free replacement of motorcycle top boxes.
Woowa Youths runs various programs to promote mutual growth with riders. These include distributing 1.15 million bottles of bottled water from Baemin B Mart stores nationwide to riders under agreements with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the National Police Agency; distributing a map of rest areas for mobile workers; and establishing the industry's first governance body of rider safety and health experts, the Rider Safety Management Committee.
