Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province is surveying residents about their health concerns and use of medical services to establish the long-term direction of its regional health and medical policies.
The city said on November 3 that it is conducting a “Citizen Health Needs Survey for the Establishment of the 9th Regional Health and Medical Plan” through November 17, targeting local residents aged 19 and older.

View original imageUnder the Regional Health Act, local governments are required to establish a regional health and medical plan every four years. The plan analyzes local health conditions and the health and medical care environment to set the direction of health and medical policies and identify key projects.
The survey aims to identify health problems residents face in their daily lives, inconveniences they experience when using medical institutions, and the public health and medical services they need.
Key survey topics include major health problems in the region; the status of medical institution use and related inconveniences; conditions for accessing medical services in the region; demand for stronger functions at public health and medical institutions; demand for integrated care services; and priorities for health and medical policies.
In particular, the survey will examine inconveniences that arise when using medical institutions and conditions for accessing medical services in the region, as well as identify the areas of health and medical support residents need.
The city plans to analyze the survey results alongside data on local health conditions, health and medical resources, and access to medical services.
Based on this analysis, it will set strategies and detailed tasks for the 9th Regional Health and Medical Plan (2027-2030) and review priorities for regional health and medical projects to be carried out over the next four years.
Residents aged 19 and older who live in Sacheon City are eligible to participate in the survey.
Residents can take part by filling out a questionnaire available at the Sacheon City Public Health Center and administrative welfare centers in towns, townships, and neighborhoods, or by responding online through the QR code on a banner posted on the Sacheon City website.
A Sacheon City official said, “We will identify the health problems residents experience and the medical services they need to develop health and medical policies suited to local conditions,” adding, “We hope residents will participate so that a wide range of opinions can be reflected in the plan.”
Meanwhile, Sacheon City plans to use the survey results as foundational data for establishing the 9th Regional Health and Medical Plan.
