Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, led by Governor Woo Sang-ho, said it held the "2026 Gangwon Global Investment Briefing for Companies" at Station C at Hallym University in Chuncheon on the 3rd. Now in its fifth year, the event brought together six bio and healthcare companies, three in vitro diagnostics and healthcare companies, and one mobility company.

The participating companies were selected through an open call and reviews by domestic and international investment experts. Before the event, they received expert consulting on their technological capabilities, commercialization, and marketing strategies tailored to their investment stages.

At the company presentations, HMI Square introduced non-invasive blood glucose measurement technology using artificial intelligence (AI)-based photoacoustic technology. Verm, a foreign-invested company, showcased its high-concentration postbiotics technology.

Small Machines presented in vitro diagnostic technology that involves designing and manufacturing microfluidic lab-on-a-chip devices in-house. Neoable unveiled a smart medical device solution for preventing pressure ulcers, using AI-based technology that automatically distributes pressure across individual air cells. TOP Mobility introduced an operating system covering everything from the introduction and certification of electric aircraft to maintenance and flight data management.

Representatives from six companies attended on the investor side, including fund managers LSK Investment, Excel Investment, and U.S.-based Global Innovation Labs, as well as UK-based Intralink, Germany's Start2, and The Garrison.

After the presentations, company representatives and investors held one-on-one consultations and networking sessions. Attendees reviewed each company's technological capabilities and growth potential and discussed ways to cooperate on follow-up investment and expansion into overseas markets.

The province plans to use the briefing to expand exchanges between companies and global investors and support follow-up investment consultations. Among the companies that took part in last year's briefing, one attracted $5 million in foreign direct investment (FDI), based on reported FDI figures.

Han Young-seon, head of the province's Industry Bureau, said, "This investment briefing is an opportunity for promising companies in the province to showcase their strong technological capabilities and growth potential to domestic and international investors, as well as a new starting point. We will continue to expand exchanges between companies and global investors and actively support them in achieving results in attracting foreign investment."
