DB Asset Management Lists 'Mighty Samsung Group Tech TOP3&Hardware' ETF for Trading
DB Asset Management is launching an exchange-traded fund (ETF) focused on key tech affiliates of Samsung Group, targeting IT hardware supply bottlenecks caused by the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
On November 3, DB Asset Management announced that it would list the "DB Mighty Samsung Group Tech TOP3&Hardware Securities Investment Trust [Equities]," a new ETF, on the Korea Exchange. The fund completed its establishment on November 2 and will be available for trading starting today.
The global AI industry is moving beyond the software development phase and entering a new stage marked by accelerated inference workloads and the spread of on-device AI and edge devices. As a result, structural supply shortages are worsening across key IT hardware, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), high-performance flip-chip ball grid array (FC-BGA) substrates, multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), and energy storage systems (ESS).
Launched amid these market conditions, the ETF tracks the "KAP Samsung Group Tech TOP3&Hardware Index" compiled by Korea Asset Pricing (KAP). Unlike existing Samsung Group ETFs, which diversify investments across all group companies or include software holdings, this fund allocates 75% of its assets to three core companies with strong earnings contributions and growth potential.
The portfolio focuses on Samsung's top three tech companies: Samsung Electronics (25%), Samsung Electro-Mechanics (25%), and Samsung SDI (25%). The remaining 25% is invested in 17 leading domestic IT hardware companies representing the AI infrastructure, semiconductor, and rechargeable battery value chains, including SK hynix (capped at 5%), Hanmi Semiconductor, ISU Petasys, and LG Energy Solution, with the aim of generating synergies.

A DB Asset Management representative said, "As rapid advances in the AI industry intensify hardware bottlenecks, the three Samsung Group tech companies with strong technological capabilities and production capacity are expected to increase their contribution to the group's net profit significantly, from about 76% in 2025 to more than 95% from 2026 onward." The representative added, "This ETF avoids short-term concentration in investment themes and offers a clear IT hardware portfolio, making it an optimal choice for investors seeking to benefit directly from the expansion of the AI ecosystem."
