The Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) is accelerating innovation in business support services by using generative artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce repetitive administrative work and devote the time saved to business consultations and planning new programs.

A survey conducted by GBSA among 347 employees who took AI training in the second half of this year received 125 responses. Of those who responded, 93% said they use generative AI for work, and 82% said they use it at least three times a week.

The most common uses of AI were preparing documents and reports, researching information, summarizing meeting minutes, creating presentation materials, and planning, in that order. Sixty percent of respondents said their working time had decreased by at least 30% compared with before. The time saved was used for verifying information and quality control (61.6%), planning new projects and policies (28.8%), and external support work, including business consultations (21.6%).

GBSA uses AI to analyze companies' industry trends and market conditions, research overseas markets, and identify support programs for individual startups. Employees have also developed work-related systems themselves to automate repetitive administrative tasks, including training registration, QR-code attendance tracking, and certificate issuance.

At the "2026 GBSA AI Hackathon," held in October, 42 participants from 14 teams developed work tools. The grand-prize-winning "Rabbit²" team unveiled a tool that automates the comparison of documents submitted for business support programs, the calculation of evaluation scores, and performance analysis.

GBSA's administrative innovation, which began with paperless accounting administration in 2024, has expanded to include the use of AI. The introduction of an electronic document system saved approximately 470,000 sheets of A4 paper and KRW 76 million in budget from 2025 through September this year.

In the second half of this year, GBSA provided practical AI training for all 347 employees, covering everything from report writing and data analysis to vibe coding, alongside ethics and security training.

"Strengthening employees' capabilities is the starting point for AI-driven administrative innovation," said Kim Hyungon, president of GBSA. "We will reduce repetitive work and focus the time saved on business consultations and policy planning to expand support services that companies in the province can truly feel."
