Kiwoom Asset Management Lowers the Bar to ETFs with 'Instatoon,' Unveils Three Products Including AI and Momentum ETFs
Kiwoom Asset Management has unveiled digital content in the form of webtoons to explain the complex structures and investment strategies of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in an intuitive way that individual investors can understand.
On November 3, Kiwoom Asset Management said it had released “Instatoon” content through its official Instagram channel, featuring episodes designed to resonate with investors.
The content was created in collaboration with Sunsal, a financial content creator. Each installment consists of 10 panels and starts with the practical trading dilemmas investors face, then explains how each ETF addresses them.
The Instatoon series covers three products: the KIWOOM US AI Tech High Beta ETF, the KIWOOM US S&P 500 Momentum ETF, and the KIWOOM Samsung Electronics & SK hynix Bond Mix 50 ETF.
The installment on the “KIWOOM US AI Tech High Beta ETF” introduces a strategy based on the experiences of investors who have faced the volatility risks of leveraged products. The strategy invests, without using derivatives, in high-beta stocks among U.S. AI technology stocks that are sensitive to market changes. The ETF uses large language models (LLMs) to screen potential investments, then invests in the 30 stocks with the highest beta, a measure of market sensitivity. The stocks are selected again every quarter.
The installment on the “KIWOOM US S&P 500 Momentum ETF” uses “averaging down vs. adding to winners” to highlight familiar trading habits. It explains the momentum strategy of regularly investing in stocks with strong upward momentum, in contrast to investors who put more money into falling stocks and sell rising stocks too early. The ETF selects about 100 S&P 500 constituents with high stock-price momentum scores over the past year and changes its holdings through regular rebalancing every March and September.
The installment on the “KIWOOM Samsung Electronics & SK hynix Bond Mix 50 ETF” draws on the experience of investors who have repeatedly gained and lost money over semiconductor industry cycles, using “jjamjjamyeon” and “half-and-half fried chicken” as analogies. It also explains how the ETF invests 50% in Samsung Electronics and SK hynix and 50% in short-term government bonds, rebalances the proportions daily, pays monthly distributions, and can be used in retirement pension accounts.
Kiwoom Asset Management plans to continue expanding its lineup of intuitive and approachable digital financial content, starting with the release of this Instatoon series.

“As the ETF market grows, investors have more products and investment strategies to choose from, but product structures and management methods can still feel difficult to understand,” said Lee Kyungjun, head of the ETF Management Division at Kiwoom Asset Management. “We will continue to explore different ways to communicate in line with investors’ interests and content consumption habits, and work to improve their understanding of and access to KIWOOM ETFs.”
