About 360 people, including students enrolled in Korean language departments at local Vietnamese universities, attended the session and showed strong interest in studying in Korea and in the University of Seoul’s academic programs.
The event was organized to introduce the University of Seoul’s academic strengths and admissions information to local students and to expand the foundation for attracting outstanding international students.
Faculty members from six colleges—the College of Political Science and Economics, College of Business Administration, College of Humanities, College of Natural Sciences, College of Artificial Intelligence Convergence, and College of Engineering—as well as the Korean Language Education Center took part in person to explain each college’s academic programs, departmental characteristics, and admissions process.
The event began with an opening ceremony and congratulatory performances, followed by introductions to the university and its colleges, and individual admissions counseling. At counseling booths for each college, students received one-on-one guidance tailored to their areas of interest and plans for further study, helping them prepare to study abroad.
The University of Seoul said the session gave it an opportunity to communicate directly with local students, promote its education and research capabilities, and broaden its prospects for attracting outstanding talent from Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia.
“This admissions information session will go beyond being a simple promotional event and serve as a starting point for attracting outstanding international students and promoting international exchanges,” said Won Yonggeol, president of the University of Seoul. “We will build multifaceted cooperation models with local Vietnamese government agencies, universities, and private organizations to expand exchanges of talent.”
The University of Seoul also participated in the Korea Study Abroad Fair, jointly organized by the National Institute for International Education and the Korean Education Center in Hanoi, from October 31 to November 1.
At the fair, which brought together about 70 universities, the University of Seoul operated its own information booth, provided information on undergraduate and graduate admissions and Korean language training programs, and held individual consultations with local students.
