Upstage's 'Solar Pro 4' Now Available on Government Network, Added to Pan-Government AI Infrastructure
Ready for use on the government network without separate GPU infrastructure
Upstage said Tuesday that it had integrated its self-developed large language model (LLM), Solar Pro 4, into the pan-government AI common infrastructure. The integration enables public officials to use a homegrown AI model for their day-to-day work within the government administrative network.
The pan-government AI common infrastructure is an AI system dedicated to the government administrative network. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Science and ICT provide AI models, data, development environments, and other resources through it to central government agencies and local governments. Solar Pro 4 is available through FabriX, Samsung SDS's platform registered with the common infrastructure.
Solar Pro 4 operates on administrative network infrastructure that has passed a security review by the National Intelligence Service, so internal administrative data is not sent outside the network. The common infrastructure centrally manages the graphics processing units (GPUs) required to run the model, allowing each agency to use it through a chat interface or application programming interface (API) without having to build its own GPU infrastructure. The model can also be connected to a range of data, including laws and regulations, press releases, and administrative documents, and provide supporting sources with its answers.
This allows public officials to use Solar Pro 4 for repetitive document-related work, such as reviewing laws and regulations, responding to public inquiries, and drafting reports. Until now, the public sector has found it difficult to use generative AI for work because internal documents could not be sent to external AI services. With this integration, agencies can use a homegrown AI model within the government administrative network.
Upstage plans to accelerate the expansion of the public-sector AI ecosystem. Since its release in August, Solar Pro 4 has gained recognition for its performance, becoming the first Korean model to be officially listed on the global developer platform OpenRouter. The model is noted for its document-processing capabilities and Korean-language performance.
