The city first asked LH to consider designating a new public housing district in the Baekseok and Gwangjeok areas to promote balanced development in the western part of the city and meet housing demand. It also asked LH to expedite the Gwangseok District project and develop plans for the use of unused and unsold land in the Goeup, Okjeong and Hoecheon districts.
On transportation, the city proposed reviewing the metropolitan transportation improvement plan to reflect travel demand resulting from land development and local conditions. It also requested measures to ease traffic congestion at Goam Interchange, improve safety and pedestrian conditions on Deokgye Bridge, and expand transfer parking at Deokjeong Station. The requests also included connecting major roads in the Hoecheon District, improving access to commercial areas, and expanding connector roads linking railway stations with nearby residential development districts.
To improve residents' living conditions, the city proposed strengthening pedestrian connectivity at Hoecheon Culture Park, considering the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Deokgyecheon Stream, and expanding waterfront spaces and amenities along Cheongdamcheon and Deokgyecheon streams. It also asked that land left unsold for a long time be developed into parks and recreational spaces, and that land designated for urban support facilities be used as a temporary parking lot for trucks.
For the Jangheung Public Housing District, the city asked LH to consider reducing the share of public rental housing to 50% or less, taking local conditions and housing demand into account. It also conveyed the view that expanding public-sale housing and adjusting the allocation of some land would help residents settle in the area and strengthen its self-sufficiency.
