Samsung Biologics has secured a 97.98% stake in its tender offer for global peptide contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Polypeptide Group.
Samsung Biologics said on November 2 that a total of 32,350,302 shares had been tendered in the preliminary final results of its tender offer for Polypeptide Group. This represents 97.98% of the shares targeted for purchase, exceeding both the minimum acceptance condition of 66.7% and the 90% threshold required to compulsorily acquire the remaining shares held by minority shareholders. The final results will be announced on November 5, following verification by an independent auditor.

Samsung Biologics plans to secure 100% ownership by compulsorily acquiring the remaining shares held by minority shareholders. The acquisition is expected to be completed at the end of 2026 or in the first quarter of 2027.

With this acquisition, Samsung Biologics will expand its CDMO business beyond its existing antibody drugs, messenger RNA (mRNA) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) to include peptides. The company plans to diversify its portfolio and strengthen its medium- to long-term growth drivers by securing peptide development and manufacturing capabilities.
