As America Seethes, Trump Holds Halloween Party in "Jungle Ballroom"
"This Country Has Never Been Better," He Claims
NYT Poll Finds Majority of Voters Dissatisfied
U.S. President Donald Trump, facing the midterm elections, reportedly held a lavish Halloween party on October 31 (local time). In interviews with local media, he also claimed that he was “doing well.” Polls suggest that Republicans are expected to struggle in the upcoming midterm elections.
The New York Times (NYT) reported on November 1 that President Trump held a Halloween party in the ballroom of his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Hundreds of people attended the party, which was decorated with what was described as a “jungle theme.” The ballroom walls and tables were painted with cheetah and zebra patterns, and the menu included Alaskan king crab and caviar.

Some guests drew attention after posting photos on social media of zebras and ponies in cages inside the club.
President Trump appeared in the ballroom, as usual, wearing a navy suit and red tie. At a press conference, he said, “I came as Donald Trump [without a costume],” adding, “The rich people [attending here] may have had nine hours to get ready, but I only had 10 minutes.”
He also called the attendees his “rich friends” and described them as “the biggest names on Wall Street.”
“I feel very good,” he said, adding, “I feel that we’re doing very well. This country has never been better than it is now.”
Others at the party included allies classified as Republican “loyalists,” such as House Speaker Mike Johnson and Sergio Gor, the U.S. ambassador to India.
The NYT also noted that President Trump’s approval rating for his handling of the country was near a record low, and reported that he appeared excited about entertaining guests as Republicans braced for defeat in the midterm elections.
