The volunteer activity was organized in connection with a resource-recycling initiative held in September, to promote the value of reusing resources and give participants hands-on experience of the importance of forest restoration and biodiversity conservation.
Participants repotted seedlings indoors and made seed balls using native plant seeds. They also planted air-purifying plants in pots collected during the September resource-recycling initiative, to be delivered to a local children's center in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. In an outdoor ecological forest, they volunteered to maintain woodland trails and clear fallen leaves. Participants also received instruction on the forest's diverse tree species and biodiversity.
