Park Inseo Takes Office as Incheon Port Authority President: "I'll Be a Problem-Solver for Pending Issues"
Park Inseo, 67, took office on Nov. 2 as the eighth president of the Incheon Port Authority (IPA).
At his inauguration ceremony at the IPA that morning, Park said, "I will be a problem-solver who quickly resolves long-standing issues that have remained unresolved," adding, "I will swiftly put the innovation tasks before us into action."
Park said Incheon Port had established itself as South Korea's second-largest container port, recording a record-high 3.55 million TEUs in container throughput in 2024, and had achieved five consecutive years with zero serious accidents.
However, he said the port also faced numerous challenges, including uncertainty in the trading environment amid U.S.-China trade tensions and intensifying competition among global ports over AI-powered smart ports.

The redevelopment of Piers 1 and 8 at the Inner Port, which will create an urban space for marine culture, is the first step in the "Jemunbu (Jemulpo, Munhak and Bupyeong) Project," a key campaign pledge of Incheon Mayor Park Chan-dae in the city's ninth popularly elected administration.
Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, Park visited the site to review the project's progress and plans, then inspected safety management at Incheon Port's lock facilities.
Born in Incheon, Park graduated from Gwangseong High School and Sungkyunkwan University's Department of Business Administration. He then joined Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), where he served as head of the LH Sejong Regional Headquarters and director of the Procurement and Contract Office.
