HL Mando Shifts from Product-Centered to Region-Centered... Appoints President Park Youngmoon as CEO
Placing Execution-Focused Leaders at the Forefront
HL Mando has shifted its organizational structure from a product-centered to a region-centered model and appointed President Park Youngmoon as CEO and Head of the Auto Sector.
HL Group announced on November 2 that it had carried out its 2026 executive appointments. Under its “disruption” agenda to break from conventional norms, the group plans to boldly restructure its organization and step up management innovation.
HL Mando simplified its three existing organizational pillars—products, functions and regions—to two: regions and functions, with the aim of speeding up decision-making and business execution. After appointing regional heads for China, the Americas, India and Europe, it created a new position for a head of Korea, underscoring its focus on strengthening accountable management. Bae Hongyong, senior executive vice president, was appointed to lead the research organization as CTO, and regional heads and functional CXOs were also named.
HL Holdings’ business division and HL Ecotech appointed Song Kitaek, an executive vice president who previously headed the integrated logistics business division, and Yoo Jaeeon, a senior vice president who oversaw HR at HL D&I Halla, as CEOs, respectively. They are expected to accelerate efforts to improve the performance of existing businesses and build a robust business portfolio.
In particular, HL Group created the new position of “Group Chief Strategy Officer” and appointed senior executive vice president Jung Jaeyoung. The plan is to refine and align the strategic direction of the group and its affiliates, while identifying new businesses and exploring new value chains.
