BC Card Partners With LG Electronics to Launch Card for 'Home Appliance Subscriptions'
LG Electronics Privilege Co-Branded Card
Monthly Discounts of Up to 35,000 Won on Home Appliance Subscription Fees
Rolling Out from BNK Kyongnam Bank to IBK Industrial Bank and iM Bank
BC Card said on November 2 that it had partnered with LG Electronics to launch the LG Electronics Privilege co-branded card, designed for home appliance subscription customers.
This new product is BC Card's first co-branded product in 10 years, since its signature hit product, "Be Rich."
Designed to reflect consumer trends that prioritize use and experience over ownership, the card combines discounts based on the previous month's spending with LG Electronics' subscription prepayment program to help reduce customers' monthly subscription costs.
Customers who pay their LG Electronics home appliance subscription fees with the Privilege card can receive monthly discounts of up to 35,000 won, depending on their spending in the previous month. The discount is 25,000 won for spending of at least 900,000 won, 30,000 won for at least 1.3 million won, and 35,000 won for at least 1.8 million won. Since discount benefits may vary among participating member companies, customers should check the details before applying for the card.
Customers who pay a prepayment with the card when signing an LG Electronics subscription contract can receive an additional discount. A prepayment of at least 900,000 won qualifies for a 25,000 won discount once a year, regardless of spending in the previous month. Customers who make the same prepayment the following year can receive the same benefit.
For example, customers who spent at least 1.8 million won on the card in the previous month can get a monthly discount of up to 35,000 won on their home appliance subscription fees. If they also make a prepayment of at least 900,000 won, they can receive an additional annual discount of 25,000 won, for a total discount of up to 60,000 won at the start of their subscription.
Under LG Electronics' subscription prepayment program, customers pay part of the cost upfront to reduce the subscription fees they pay each month thereafter. BC Card has added separate card discounts for prepayments and monthly subscription payments, helping to meaningfully reduce customers' subscription costs.
The Privilege card was first launched through BNK Kyongnam Bank on October 30 and is scheduled to roll out through IBK Industrial Bank of Korea in the fourth quarter of 2026. BC Card plans to expand issuance to iM Bank next year. Card brands (Visa or Mastercard) and annual fees vary by bank and can be checked on each bank's website. The card is available only as a personal credit card. BC Card plans to continue expanding the participating member companies and build a nationwide financial ecosystem for LG Electronics home appliance subscriptions.
