Kim Alim finished in the top 10.
On Nov. 1, Kim Alim carded four birdies and no bogeys in the fourth round of the Maybank Championship, an LPGA Tour “Asian Swing” event with a total purse of $3 million, held at the West Course (par 72, 6,536 yards) of Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her 4-under 68 gave her seventh place at 15-under 273. It was her ninth top-10 finish of the year.
Starting in a tie for ninth, seven strokes off the lead, Kim was unable to make much headway in the first half, making par on every hole. She gained momentum with consecutive birdies on the 10th and 11th holes, then birdied the 17th and 18th in succession, but it was not enough to turn the contest around.
Miyu Yamashita of Japan shot a 4-under 68 to win by two strokes at 22-under 266. With her second consecutive victory at the event, she earned her third win of the season and fifth of her career, along with the $450,000 winner's prize (about 600 million won).
