Line 7 Train Breaks Down at Boramae Station... Normal Service Resumes (Updated)
All passengers got off a Jangam-bound train after it broke down at Boramae Station on Seoul Subway Line 7. Normal service resumed about 1 hour and 45 minutes later after the disabled train was moved out of service.
At around 12:23 p.m. on Nov. 1, a Jangam-bound train broke down at Boramae Station on Line 7, delaying northbound service and forcing all passengers to get off. Following action by Seoul Metro, normal service resumed across the entire line at around 2:07 p.m., about 1 hour and 45 minutes later.
Seoul Metro said, "A train broke down, and after completing a rescue coupling operation—in which a functioning train pushes the disabled train from behind—we began moving it out of service." The operator plans to move the disabled train to the Dobong train depot using this method.

Immediately after the incident, Seoul Metro assembled an initial response team and began recovery efforts. The operator believes the problem occurred because the train's braking system failed to release after braking, and plans to investigate the exact cause of the breakdown.
