FKI to Support Learning and Career Development for Out-of-School Youth... YOUTH CAMPUS Opens Nov. 2
Around 1,000 Equivalency Exam and College Entrance Exam Courses
Interviews with Role Models and a Peer Community
Integrated Support for Education, Career Development, and Health
A dedicated platform is launching to help out-of-school youth continue learning and explore career paths online.
The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) said on November 1 that it will officially launch YOUTH CAMPUS, an online learning and communication platform for out-of-school youth, on November 2.
YOUTH CAMPUS was created as part of Cheongnyeonae YOUTH BRIDGE, a support program for out-of-school youth led by the FKI in partnership with EBS, Hana Financial Group, and the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute.
EBS built and operates the official website. Users can access the platform by logging in with an EBS account and verifying their identity with a code provided by their local Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Kkum Dream Center).
YOUTH CAMPUS offers around 1,000 courses to prepare for middle and high school equivalency exams, as well as college entrance exam courses for youth preparing to enter university. It has also distributed 3,000 sets of equivalency exam study guides through Kkum Dream Centers nationwide, enabling users to make use of online lectures and textbooks together.
The platform is also introducing 150 new pieces of exclusive content, covering everything from basic life skills such as finance, taxes, law, and labor to career and vocational education in areas including artificial intelligence (AI), entrepreneurship and e-commerce, and practical skills for content creators.
On the platform's U-Cam TV, users can watch “To the Youth,” a lecture series jointly planned for Cheongnyeonae YOUTH BRIDGE, and “BLANK,” an interview series.
BLANK features people who have forged their own paths and taken on challenges outside the school system, sharing their experiences. Participants include dancer Lee Jung, professional Go player Shin Jinseo, model Han Hyun-min, and YouTuber KwakTube. One episode will be released each week in sequence through YOUTH CAMPUS and other channels. The platform will also run a peer community where youth can share everyday concerns and experiences.
An FKI official said, “We hope YOUTH CAMPUS will be a reliable stepping stone for out-of-school youth, helping them continue learning anytime and anywhere and chart their own career paths. We will continue to support the independence and growth of future generations by connecting them with a range of resources from the business community.”
Cheongnyeonae YOUTH BRIDGE was launched in March this year through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) among four organizations: the FKI, EBS, Hana Financial Group, and the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute. The program provides support in education, career development, and health to help out-of-school youth become independent and grow.
Since launching EBS's “To the Youth” lecture series in May this year, the program has offered scholarships, special programs with the business community, physical activity vouchers, and one-on-one online mentoring.
The special programs with the business community are monthly field trips to major companies and institutions, including Hana Financial Group's dealing room and Currency Museum, Galaxy Robot Park, CJ ENM Studio Center, LG Sangnok Foundation's Hwadam Forest, and Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang.
