Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province, headed by Mayor Park Gwanyeol, held the 31st Agricultural Day Commemorative Event at the plaza in front of the Jayeonchae Food Farm Center on October 30, honoring the hard work of local farmers.

View original imageAbout 1,000 people attended the event, organized by the Gwangju City Agricultural Organizations Council, including Mayor Park Gwanyeol, a National Assembly member, the city council chair and members, heads of institutions and organizations, and farmers.
At the ceremony, 20 people, including those who contributed to the development of agriculture and rural communities and outstanding farmers, received commendations. Traditional folk game competitions and a farmers' talent show followed, giving attendees a chance to strengthen their bonds and foster unity.
Agricultural Day is a day to reflect on the importance of agriculture and the hard work of farmers. It is observed on November 11 because the Chinese characters for ten (十) and one (一) can be combined to form the character for soil (土).
