The site covers 28,133 square meters, with a total floor area of 46,612 square meters. The complex includes 36 rental processing plant units and 10 frozen and refrigerated warehouse units, as well as export support facilities and the International Dried Gim Exchange.
The International Dried Gim Exchange focuses on setting prices according to quality and increasing transparency in the trading process. Gwangju Special City expects the exchange to build trust between producers and buyers and strengthen the export competitiveness of K-Gim (GIM).
The city also plans to attract the National Institute for Gim Industry Promotion and have the area designated as a Gim Industry Promotion Zone. Its plan is to support the commercialization of research and development results and expand overseas sales channels, connecting these efforts to stable sales and higher incomes for fishers and developing the southwestern region into a global hub for the gim industry.
