Both agenda items approved... Supporting recipients who need ongoing treatment
Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province held a Medical Benefits Review Committee meeting to support eligible recipients in receiving ongoing treatment and using appropriate medical services.
The city said on October 30 that it held the 2026 Sacheon City Medical Benefits Review Committee meeting in the city hall's conference room and deliberated and approved two agenda items related to eligible recipients' use of medical services.

The committee deliberated on two agenda items: "Prior extension approval for recipients who have exceeded or are expected to exceed the maximum number of Medical Benefits days" and "Additional designation of selected Medical Benefits institutions following conditional extension approval."
An extension approval for the maximum number of Medical Benefits days is a system that allows the period during which eligible recipients can use Medical Benefits to be extended following deliberation when they need ongoing treatment due to an illness or other condition and have exceeded, or are expected to exceed, the set number of days.
Additionally, the designation of an additional selected Medical Benefits institution refers to designating another medical institution in accordance with relevant standards and procedures when recipients need further treatment beyond the institution already designated for their Medical Benefits use.
Both of the two items submitted for deliberation were approved.
As a result, the eligible recipients will be able to continue receiving the medical services they need by extending the number of days they can use Medical Benefits or by having an additional selected Medical Benefits institution designated, following the relevant procedures.
Sacheon City plans to continue supporting eligible recipients so they can access necessary medical services in a timely manner, taking into account the nature of their illnesses and their use of medical services.
The city also intends to consider both recipients' access to medical care and the appropriate administration of the system as it operates review procedures related to the use of Medical Benefits.
A Sacheon City official said, "This review will help ensure that eligible recipients who need ongoing treatment can access medical services reliably," adding, "We will continue to monitor recipients' use of medical services and provide the support they need."
