Yuhan Corporation, Boehringer Ingelheim Korea 'Join Hands' on Healthcare Innovation
The two companies have built a strong partnership since 2010
They will collaborate across multiple areas to advance Korea's healthcare ecosystem
Yuhan Corporation announced on October 30 that it had signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Boehringer Ingelheim Korea to promote healthcare innovation and contribute to the sustainable development of Korea's healthcare ecosystem.
The two companies have built a long-term partnership since launching the co-promotion of Twynsta, a hypertension treatment, in Korea in 2010. They have also worked together to supply and market major treatments in Korea, including Trajenta and Jardiance. More recently, they expanded their collaboration beyond chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes to include cerebrovascular diseases.

Specifically, they will explore joint initiatives to drive healthcare innovation in areas including digital healthcare and patient support programs, efforts to raise disease awareness and promote early diagnosis, medical education and scientific exchange, and improved patient access. The companies will also explore ways to collaborate by leveraging their expertise in key therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases (CRM), through the introduction of innovative medicines, clinical, medical, and scientific cooperation, and the generation of real-world evidence (RWE).
They also plan to identify long-term collaboration models to support the sustainability of Korea's healthcare system and enhance patient value through engagement with a range of stakeholders. To this end, they will consider establishing and operating a joint working group.
Cho Wookje, CEO of Yuhan Corporation, said, "Building on Yuhan Corporation's accumulated research and development and business capabilities, as well as our deep understanding of Korea's healthcare environment, we will strive to help expand treatment benefits for patients in Korea and advance the healthcare ecosystem."
