Police Seek Arrest Warrant for Wondang Station Employee Who Wielded a Weapon Against Colleague
Police have sought an arrest warrant for a male station employee who wielded a weapon against a female colleague at Wondang Station on Subway Line 3 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
On Oct. 29, the Goyang Police Station said it had sought an arrest warrant for station employee A, who is suspected of attempted murder.
According to police, A is suspected of trying to kill fellow station employee B by wielding a weapon at around 12:30 p.m. the previous day in the station office at Wondang Station in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. B suffered serious injuries to her neck and legs and was taken to a hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.
Another station employee subdued A at the scene, and a worker at a nearby construction site restrained A with cable ties and handed him over to responding police officers. Police arrested A at the scene. A and B had worked together since early this year, and B was reportedly A's senior at work.
Police said that, based on their investigation so far, the incident was neither a relationship-based crime nor a crime with an abnormal motive.
