The Game Talent Institute of the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold the finals of its "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hackathon" over two days, starting November 5, at its first and second campuses and Nine Tree by Parnas Seoul Pangyo.

A hackathon is a competition in which teams turn ideas into finished products within a limited time. This year's theme is "A Game for Everyone." Seventy university students will take on the challenge of creating games that anyone can enjoy together while embracing diversity and inclusion. Each participant will receive KRW 150,000 in AI usage support to help them focus on development.

Based on presentations and demonstrations, the Game Talent Institute will select one grand prize winner, one top prize winner and three excellence prize winners. Along with prizes, the winners will receive an exemption from the document screening stage of the 2027 incoming student recruitment process. "We plan to provide aspiring game developers with hands-on experience using AI and identify talent with relevant skills," a representative said.

This year, the Game Talent Institute designated AI-based game development as a core competency and reorganized its curriculum around AI.
