XL8 Supplies AI Interpretation for '2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress'
Real-Time Interpretation at Key Sessions of Event Drawing Participants from 91 Countries
XL8, a company specializing in AI-powered simultaneous interpretation, announced on October 29 that it had supplied its real-time AI interpretation solution, EventCAT, to the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress.
Held from October 19 to 23 across the Gangneung Olympic Park area, the Gangneung ITS World Congress drew more than 60,000 participants, including senior government, academic and industry officials, technology experts, and members of the public from 91 countries.

XL8 installed its real-time interpretation system, EventCAT, at each of the major sessions to facilitate smooth communication among participants from different countries.
EventCAT can integrate and manage projects by date and session at the conference level. It allows organizers to manage everything from conference creation and setup to rehearsals and live streaming in a single workflow, making it easy to see the overall schedule and the progress of each session at a glance, even at events where multiple sessions run simultaneously over several days. Participants can also scan a QR code for each session to view subtitles and listen to audio in their preferred language on their personal smartphones or tablets.
Building on this experience, XL8 plans to expand the use of EventCAT into local tourism. The company will enhance its EventCAT Docent solution, which delivers guides' commentary in real time in tourists' native languages at museums, art museums, and local festivals. It will also introduce EventCAT at the 2026 Gangneung Travel Mart (GTM 2026), helping buyers from 47 companies across eight countries understand local tourism resources in their respective languages.
