"Find Products with a Single Photo"... Musinsa Launches AI Image Search
Applies In-House AI Model to Find Identical and Similar Products
Recognizes Up to Eight Products in a Single Photo
Filters and Sorting to Be Added in Q4... Image Search to Expand to 29CM
Musinsa said on October 29 that it had launched Musinsa Lens, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered image search service that lets users find products they want with a single photo.
When users tap the lens icon in the search bar and upload a photo, AI recognizes the products in the image and displays identical or similar items sold in the Musinsa Store. The service supports major categories, including outerwear and shoes, and is available to members logged in to the Musinsa App.
Users can search for products based on visual characteristics that are difficult to describe in text, such as color, design, and overall feel.
Musinsa applied its own AI model, training in-house both a product detection model that identifies products in photos and a model that assesses their visual similarity. This allows users to search for similar products using images alone. The service can identify up to eight individual products in a single photo. It also lets users share search results via a link.
Musinsa plans to add filters and sorting options for search results in the fourth quarter and introduce image search to 29CM as well.
